CLIENT: The Jewish Education Project
Challenge
When it came time to promote its fundraising gala, The Jewish Education Project, a nonprofit educational organization, faced a number of specific marketing challenges:
- The organization hadn’t held an event in several years, and so the invitation had the regain the attention of their potential donors.
- They had recently changed their name from the Board of Jewish Education, and this would be the first time that many people have heard of the name change.
- They wanted to communicate what the organization does.
- They wanted to strike the right balance between being festive and sincere in a recessionary year.
- They wanted to showcase their mission of innovation and their tagline PIONEER NEW APPROACHES.
- They had a limited budget.
Solution
It was clear that since The Jewish Education Project promotes innovation in education, the invitation to their annual gala had to be unique. So we thought that this was an opportunity to engage the audience with interactivity through paper. With the theme of “Celebrate Pioneers,” to reinforce their tagline, we developed a pull out card format that revealed five key points about the organization. The last circle revealed a QR code for the event website.
Results
The invitation achieved all their goals and attracted a large crowd, making for a successful event. The invitation provided a great way to create an interactive experience for their audience in order to showcase their new name and logo and mission with the appropriate balance of splash and restraint.
