2014 Annual Report

As the U.S. fundraising arm of the prestigious research university in Jerusalem, the American Friends of the Hebrew University uses its annual report as its key communications piece with donors. The 2014 annual report emphasizes the university’s innovation by showcasing research highlights in many areas, with a special emphasis on the university’s incubator that brings concepts to market. The report also recognizes donors and how they help foster the recruitment of new faculty, as well featuring other university accomplishments. This is the third annual report that Red Rooster Group has designed for AFHU.

Pratham USA Annual Report Raises the Bar on Hope

Client: Pratham USA

Pratham is the largest literacy organization in India. Pratham USA raises funds for Pratham’s programs in India. We redesigned the organization’s annual report as part of an overall brand refresh for the organization. The theme of Raising the Bar on Hope was aimed at reinvigorating interest in the organization’s donor base that was experiencing some fatigue with Pratham’s message.

Because the 2010 Annual Report was aimed primarily at Pratham’s larger donors, we gave it a more professional and dignified look. We kept the layouts simple and open, focusing on large, full-bleed photos on each spread. To emphasize the impact of the programs, we paired large photos showing educational issues in India with quotes about education. We also used maps and other infographics to highlight key information. The report was so successful that the format was re-used the following year.

Ten-Year Retrospective Report Looks Ahead As Well

Client: Fund for Public Health in New York

The Fund for Public Health in New York is a public-private partnership that raises money for health initiatives and supports the New York City Department of Health. For its 10th anniversary report, we created four themes that covered the scope of its work, and featured three programs in each area. We also created a timeline with selected accomplishments during its 10-year history. In addition to looking back at successes, we devised a feature called Invitation to Innovation to whet the appetite of potential donors about the possibilities of what their support could help accomplish in the future.

Impact Report Visualizes Accomplishments for Nonprofit Organization

Client: UMFS

UMFS, a social service agency in Virginia, wanted to communicate the impact it had across a range of areas. While called an Impact Report, it’s actually more of a brochure that uses infographics to visually present statistics showing the organization’s impact in five areas corresponding to its values. The infographics use large numbers as a focal point, and icon-style graphics to illustrate the points. The graphics were used both in a printed brochure as well as on the website, which we also created. The Impact Report also is designed to be read easily on a mobile device.

Annual Report for Educational Organization

Client: The Jewish Education Project

This annual report for a nonprofit educational organization was designed to show how the organization successfully fosters innovations in education. A “highlights” page focuses on impact numbers, while the spreads tell stories about specific programs. Illustrations are combined with photos to bring the subject matter to life.
